The Kingdom of Ehrenberg
The Kingdom of Ehrenberg is a rugged, mystical realm nestled in the fjordlands, where towering mountains, dark forests, and labyrinthine waterways define the landscape. The capital city, Ashgarde, is a stunning marvel built into the cliffs of a vast fjord, with the Starspire at its heart—an arcane citadel that gleams with magic and serves as the seat of power for the long-reigning Elven Queen, Elyria vi Ehrenberg. Governed by the Queen and the Seven Stars, powerful noble families, the kingdom is a bastion of stability, where magic is deeply intertwined with governance. Magic, while revered, is tightly controlled, with children born with magical potential taken from their families and trained as Starborn—mages who serve the crown and kingdom.
Despite its outward strength, Ehrenberg is not without its tensions. The kingdom's regulation of magic and the Queen’s centuries-long rule stir whispers of rebellion, especially among the Starborn who chafe under the crown’s control. Underneath the city’s grandeur and the kingdom’s calm exterior, rivalries and suspicions fester, and the mystical power that sustains the land hides more than a few dark secrets. Yet, for all its mysteries and internal conflicts, Ehrenberg stands as a resilient and enigmatic realm, where the beauty of the land is matched only by the complexity of its politics and the ever-present hum of ancient magic.
